The Omicrons, the fastest COVID virus, that is spreading around the globe today.

In the U.S., New York is seeing the most as it is the most likely entry point of overseas traffic into the country. 

How U.S. handles its spread or containing it this time depends on how efficient the State and the Federal governments meet the challenges. This time, there is much less political finger pointing to China because this time it is clear China has nothing to do with it just like the erroneous mistakes the West did just because the Chinese scientists first alerted the world on COVID-19 in Wuhan. The COVID-19 original strains have been around much earlier than when it was finally spread to Wuhan during the congregations of athletes from around the world during the World’s Military Games in late 2019 in Wuhan.

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. This type of cancer is a creation of immature white blood cells call lymphocytes causing an in balance of a patient’s blood count between the white and the red blood cells.

The cause of ALL is yet unknown to science. Though rare, it strikes about 6,000 people a year according to the University of Maryland Medical Center.  Two thirds of those who were affected are children with adults being the rarest among all types of leukemia.

Adults over age 60 may have more complications with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia than children. Treatment may be particularly better for those who are in good health overall. Those treated early and have good health all around could take better to treatments.

Once identified with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, patient should begin treatment quickly. Treatment begins with chemotherapy with close supervision by hospitalization for several weeks and eventually as an out-patient.

Breakout Awards

A Gala gathering was held to confer the awards to the honorees to the Breakout Prizes. The Breakout Prizes are founded by a host of Charitable Foundations comprising of contributions from Serey Brin & Anne Wojcicki, Yuri & Julia Milner, Mark Zuckerberg & Priscilla Chan and Jack Ma & Cathy Zhang. Chinese Scientist speaks at NASA Conference

NASA’s MAVEN (Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution) astrophysicist, Dong Yaxue was invited to speak at a NASA news conference. Dong graduated from Chendu’s Shishi High School and went on to the University of Science & Technology of China before receiving her doctor’s degree from Rice University in Texas, US.

In 2014, Dong joined the Laboratory for Atmospherics and Space Physics (LASP) at the University of Colorado and began working for MAVEN. Her main work at MAVEN is to analyze satellite data and compare the results to theoretical predictions.

Gunong Rinjani

Gunung Rinjani spill flumes on the island of Lombok, Indonedia. It is one of 129 active volcanos in Indonesia today. It rises to 3,726 metres, making it the second highest volcano in Indonesia. Sasak tribe and Hindu people assume the lake and the mount are sacred.
